North - Harold Kenneth Reed, 89, a retired retail merchant and former co-owner and operator of Reed's Supermarket and Dry Goods, died Thursday at his residence. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today in Riverside Cemetery. Burial will be directed by Dukes-Harley Funeral Home of Orangeburg. Mr. Reed was born in North, a son of W. M. Reed and Eva Melton Reed. He attended The Citadel and the University of South Carolina. He was a member of the original Orangeburg County Industrial Development Commission. He was a member of First Baptist Church of North. Surviving are a son, Edward I. Reed of Orangeburg; a daughter, Barbara J. Cooley of Orangeburg; and eight grandchildren.
