Mr. Elton E. Monzingo, age 89 of Huntsville passed away Jan. 28, in Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 10, 1909, in Prairie Point Community near Lovelady to Willie E. and Ura V. Monzingo. He was a supervisor for Eilenberger Bread Company in Palestine for 26 years, co-owner of the Dairy Queen in Huntsville for 14 years and was employed as Zipp's Food Market in Huntsville for 17 years.
Mr. Monzingo loved to work with people and never met a stranger. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to watch sporting events. He had been a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ since 1958. Survivors include children Barbara Lee Farrar of Huntsville, Edward Everett Monzingo and wife Merrie of Tomball, Sandra Kaye Shillinge and husband Norman of Huntsville and John Elton Monzingo of Huntsville; a former wife and friend, Florence Wright, 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and special friends, Beverly and Don Hatcher. Funeral services wre held at the Huntsville Church of Christ on Sam Houston Avenue. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery of Lovelady.Huntsville Funeral Home
