Royce Edward Allen, 46, of Beaumont, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2010. He was a resident of Port Arthur, Texas for 44 years. He was a 1981 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and a 2006 graduate of Lamar University. He graduated with honors and he was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Melvin and Margiree Allen, Aunt Maymie Randle. Royce Allen was a life-time member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for 40 years. He was employed at St. Mary's Hospital in the physical therapy department for 20 years. During his tenure at St. Mary's, he was awarded employee of the year for two years. Royce was employed the last 4 years at the Gulf Coast Health Care Center as an LVN. During his employment, Royce was awarded employee of the year. Royce leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 22 years, Rochelle D. Allen; daughter, Roycesi'etta Nicole Allen; son, Royce Edward Allen II; mother, Melvin Deloris Allen; brother, Roynald Nelson Allen Sr. (Stephanie) of Baytown, TX; brother Anthony Joseph Allen Sr. of Capitol Heights, MD; sister, Tonya Renee Allen of Austin, TX; nephews, Roynald Allen Jr., Anthony Joseph Allen Jr.; niece, Aniyah Allen; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Terrence Boone, Jr of Port Arthur, TX; and a host of other loving relatives, friends, and co-workers. Visitation is scheduled from 12 Noon until 2 P.M. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral service is scheduled for 2 P.M. Saturday at the church with Rev. Donald Frank officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home. Royce will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved him forever.
