He was born on May 1, 1946, in Luray. He is the son of the late Charles 'Les' Richards and the late Elise C. Cloude, both of Luray. On February 5, 1965, he married Patricia Ann Kibler in Hagerstown, Maryland.
And they shared 38 wonderful years together. He was a chef among other duties at several different lodges across the Skyline Drive over the course of his career. He was also employed by Luray Caverns for several years. At the end of his working career, he served as a foreman for Harry Byrd Orchid in Timberville, Virginia
During their 38 years of marriage, they were blessed with a daughter and a son , Theresa Gillenwater of Luray and Allen T. 'Timmy' Richards Jr. of Front Royal, Virginia.
He was also blessed with four grandchildren, Felecia Good, A. J. Good, Lindsey Richards and Trey Gillenwater, all of Luray.
He is survived by three sisters, Velma Lonas of New Market, Virginia, Barbara Mathews of Mississippi, and Kay Rhoten of Elkland, Missouri. Five brothers survive, Buddy Richards of New Market, Virginia, Charles D. Richards, Ike Richards, Barry Richards and Bruce Richards, all of Luray.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas E. Richards of Luray; and a sister, Maxine Phillips of Fulks Run, Virginia.
Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Luray, Va.
