A native of Lewis County, N.Y., Mr. Brotherton was a son of the late Claude Leon Brotherton Sr. and Curetta Burkhard Brotherton.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 23 years of service, having served in the Vietnam and Korean wars. He was also retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 23 years of service.
He was a member of Harvest Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Jones Brotherton.
Burial will be in Harvest Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Mote officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Allen Brotherton; a daughter, Pamala Lowe, Clayton; two stepdaughters, Candy Adkins, Demorest, and Cyndi Simmons, Martin; three sons, Raymond Brotherton and Stanley Brotherton, both of Clarkesville, and Leon Brotherton, Lake Burton; a stepson, Michael Gannon, Lillington, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
