Beatrice "Bea" Knapp Battle Creek Beatrice "Bea" Knapp, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Beatrice was born on August 2, 1919, in Dayton, TN, the daughter of Jesse and Ada (Wright) McCartt. She married Donald M. Knapp in 1956, he preceded her in death on April 11, 1984. Bea was employed at the U.S. Register Company for 15 years and then with Meijers on Columbia Ave. as a clerk for 15 years. She was a charter member of the Andrus Street Church of God and an organist at the church for many years. Bea enjoyed shopping and garage sales. Surviving are children, James H. (Donna) Thurman of Battle Creek, Wilma (Thomas) Znamer of Woodhaven, MI, and David (Maggie) Thurman of Battle Creek; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Monroe, a sister, Grace Tallent; and a granddaughter, Kristen Marler. Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at the funeral home with Pastor John Crank of Andrus Street Church of God officiating. Interment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to a Charity of Choice.
