Diana Lynn Vine-Anderson, age 66 of Odessa, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009, at Hospice House of Odessa.

She was born Friday, October 30, 1942, in Berkeley, CA to Burt and Nina (O'Reily) Vine.

She worked for 22 years for the Texas Employment Commission.

As a little girl, Diana had wished her mother had named her "Sparkle". Diana married Larry Anderson in Los Angeles, CA on July 11, 1981, and she became the sparkle in Larry's life.

She was a loving wife and an affectionate and helpful person.

She had a way of making others feel at peace.

Animals held a special place in her heart.

She loved dogs and often took strays to the Abilene animal shelter if she could not find them a loving home.

She was a thirteen-year member of Alanon and helped at the battered women's shelters in Odessa and Midland.

She worshipped with the Unitarian Universalist Church.

She leaves behind her husband of almost 28 years, Larry Anderson of Odessa; two sons: John Fifth of Dyersburg, TN, and Johnny Allen Anderson of Flower Mound, TX; one daughter: Lesa Jane Sanchez of Midland; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services in her honor will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Skip Batch.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
