Thursday, May 20, 1920, Sandusky Register, Sandusky, Ohio
Bellevue - One of the most delightful pre-nuptial affairs being held for the pleasure of Miss Helen Downs, whose marriage to Ralph Avery will be an event of June 2, was a miscellaneous shower given by Mrs. L. P. Oehm and Mrs. William Greenslade at the former's home on Northwest-St Tuesday evening, entertaining members of the Ohio club. A varied program consisting of musical selections and character readings were enjoyed by the guests. Little Bobby Boenrief entered the room with a pretty decorated wagon, laden with many beautiful and useful gifts for Miss Downs. A dainty luncheon was served by the hostesses, a unique color scheme of lavender, gold and white being carried out in the appointments and throughout the home.
