Born June 17,1914,she was the daughter of the late Worthington P.and Maude C.(Young)Wachter.
Her husband, Albert T. "Bud" Fiery, preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1980.
Millie was a member of Haven Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.
She was a founding member of the Western Maryland Hospital Center Auxiliary and received many awards for her volunteer service. Most recently, she was honored for 50 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynda F. and her husband, Pastor S. Dwight Morgan, of Greencastle, Pa.; three grandsons, Pastor S. Scott Morgan and his wife, Dawn, of Hanover, Pa., D. Todd Morgan and his wife, Laurie, of Greencastle, Pa., and Roland T. Morgan of Hagerstown and his friend, Karen Sornson, of Hancock, Md.; one nephew, Paul Wachter of Charleston, S.C.; and one niece, Sally Ducker of Gainesville, Ga. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Millie was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel Wachter; and her sister, Evelyn Wachter.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Md. Pastor S. Scott Morgan will officiate. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, as well as one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Western Maryland Hospital Center, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
