Mary C. Stubbs a 55-year resident of Palatine.
Prayers for Mary C. Stubbs (nee Mure), 86, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 465 N. Benton St., Palatine. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. Palatine. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Born May 7, 1918, in Chicago, she passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, from cancer and its complications at Lexington Health Care Center in Schaumburg.
Mary worked at several nearby restaurants and many of her customers knew her as a good friend. She was strong, honest, loving and had a great sense of humor. She worked very hard all her life and made the best pizza many had ever tasted.
Survivors include her children, Anthony (Denise) Mastroianni, Bernadette Harvey, Paulette Koch and Jacqueline (Bruce) Hoppe; grandchildren, Robert Koch, Scott Stubbs, David Mastroianni, Cassandra (Bruce) Cavins, Kristin (Chris) Harvey-Smuk and Andrew Jarding; and great-grandchildren, Morgan Schwindaman, Brandon Dingels, Alexis Taylor Cavins and Alicia Rose Smuk.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Stubbs and Frank Mastroianni; and son, Allan Mastroianni.
