The son of William & Alianna "Aly Ann" (Hill) Armstrong of Rocky Mount, Franklin Co VA, late of Franklin, Williamson Co TN, Thomas married Matilda Gunter on 14 Nov 1822 in Williamson Co TN, the daughter of Sterling Gunter.

To all to whom these presents may come. This is to certify that we, the undersigned Ministers of the Regular Baptist Faith and being legally authorized thereunto holding the doctrine of Election by Grace did actually and solemnly ordain our beloved brother, Thomas Armstrong to the full work of the Ministry by the laying on our hand and solemn prayers and that capacity do most sincerely recommend him to the Grace of God and to all where God in his province may cast his lot. Given under our hand this day and date above written.

Although no marker has been located, family members agree Thomas is laid to rest near his wife Matilda.

Thomas is my daughters' 3rd paternal Gr-Grandfather.
