Robert Duane Bixler Sr., 65, of Aztec, conquered his 15-year battle with Alzheimer's, leaving his earthly body Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, for his new home in Heaven. Robert was born July 26, 1944, in Durango, Colo., to Homer Leonard Bixler and Celia Pierce Bixler.
Visitation will be from 5 to
7 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb.18, at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St., in Farmington
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Cope Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Ellis Forsman officiating.
Burial with military honors at Cedar Hill Cemetery will follow the service.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, Petty Officer Kenny McFarland, United States Coast Guard; Kasey McFarland, Korey McFarland, Staff Sgt. Drew Locke, United States Air Force; Jesse Locke and Robert "R.D." Duane Bixler III.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Duane Bixler II, Samantha "Sam" Bixler, Amber "MayMay" Bixler, Ken McFarland, Ron Clover and Siegenliede Bixler.
