Virgil Hughes, Jr., 89, of Bethany, passed away Friday, February 12, 2010. He was born October 15, 1920 in Trenton, Missouri to Virgil and Rosalie (Thorpe) Hughes. Virgil was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired as a product tester for SW Bell, AT&T and Lucent.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; sons Don Hughes and wife Sonja, Bobby Hughes, and Virgil Leroy "Red" Hughes and wife Judy; brother Roland Hughes; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, February 18, 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens
