Mrs. Burgess was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cathedral, and its Ladies Guild, the Catholic Women's Business club, and auxiliaries of the VFW, the Moose and Eagles lodges. She was treasurer of the Daughters of the American Revolution chapter.
Her husband, Benjamin F., died in 1956. Surviving are 2 sons, John and Benjamin; a brother, Raphael McMillin; a sister, Mrs. Genevieve Ludes; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
