Viola Ackerlund, 96, passed away on Sept. 9 at the Madrid Home. Services will be Monday, Sept. 14 at 11 AM at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home
in Madrid with burial at Fairview Cemetery north of Madrid. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Sunday, Sept. 13 beginning at 3 pm with the family
present from 5 – 7 pm.
Viola was born June 8, 1913 in Boone County, IA and married Leonard Ackerlund in 1937. She was a life long member of the Garden Prairie Church, rural Madrid.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Carlene Hunter (Bob), Nevada, Karen Anderson (Larry), Huxley, Carolyn Santi (Richard), West Des Moines, Kristin Redenius (Kermit), Webster City; grandchildren, Kristi Anderson (Steve Carlson), Roland, Eric Anderson, Story City, Karla Heintz, Nevada, Joel Anderson,
Zearing, Chad Anderson, Cambridge, Mark Anderson, Tampa, FL, Scott Anderson, Bozeman, MT, Troy Santi (Elaine), San Antonio, TX, Michelle Beecher (Beau),
Cedar Falls, Shelly Braudis (Michael), Dillon, CO, Bryce Grail (Tracy), Ames; 10 great-grandchildren and her brother Emery Barclay of Madrid.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister Leona Nutt and a great grandchild, Alexa Santi.
