Aleshire, David Frank, b. ca. 1845, Page County, Va., son of Henry and Susannah Aleshire. Resided with his parents in Rockingham County, Va. in 1860. Enlisted 11/27/1863 in Co. C, 10th Virginia Infantry, CSA at Camp Rapidan as a private. Court martial, 4/64. Returned to duty and captured 5/12/1864, Spotsylvania Court House. Within days of arriving as a POW at Pt. Lookout, Maryland, he took the oath of allegiance and enlisted (5/19/1864) as a private in Co. H, 1st United States Volunteers ("Galvanized Yankees"). Died Apr 4, 1865 (scurvy). Remains removed from Ft. Rice Cemetery and relocated to this cemetery, 3/6/1905.
