Ruth M. (Johnson) Barringer, age 89, of Hebron passed away on Thursday February 11, 2010 at Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer, IN.
She was born on July 24, 1920 in Ford River, MI to MaThea Bergitte (Moe) Johnson and Charles Nord Johnson, both deceased.
Ruth was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. On March 13, 1942, she married Lloyd Barringer who passed away on July 13, 2003.
She had lived in Galatia, IL until 1952 then Lake Station until 1973. Recently Ruth had lived in the Hebron-DeMotte area. She was a member of The Christian Church of DeMotte.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Natalie (Gordie) Anderson of Hebron; son, Don (Brenda) Barringer of Crown Point; six grandsons: Tony Barringer of Crown Point, Mike (Tiffany) Barringer of Kouts, Eric (Ann) Mabie, U.S. Army, Ft. Campbell, KY, Kurt Mabie of Hebron, Gordie (Melissa) Anderson, Jr. of Lafayette and Corey Anderson of Carlisle, IN; one great-grandson, Austin Michael Barringer; and brother, Kermit Johnson of Escanaba, MI.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; granddaughter, Rhonda Mabie; and three sisters and seven brothers.
Friends may call on Monday February 15, 2010 from 2:00- 8:00 PM at Jackson Funeral Service, 200 Third St. SW, DeMotte, IN.
