MOTHER OF LOCAL MINISTER DIES

Mrs. Rose Altha Borror, 90, mother of Rev. Mark Borror, pastor of the First Apostolic church, died this morning at 5:30 o'clock at the home of her son .... She had been ill for about the last month. Death was due to complications.

Funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the First Apostolic church .... Burial will be in the cemetery located southeast of Fairland, near Villa Grove.

Mrs. Borror was born April 8, 1858, at Kansas City, Mo. She was married to Charles W. Borror, who died in 1938. She had lived in Mattoon for the last 12 years.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Lizzy Chancellor of Chicago Heights, Mrs. Martha Swinger of Homewood, Mrs. Fannie Weed of Chicago and Mrs. Myrtle Mayhall of Neoga; one son, Rev. Borror of Mattoon, and 24 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

- Rose's middle name first appears as Alpha. Her family lived in Cass Co., Missouri, so it is unclear whether she was born there or in neighboring Kansas City, Jackson, MO.
