Mr. Samuel J. Bocian, a life long resident of Toledo, died Sunday, February 18, 2001, in his residence after a brief illness. He was born on September 2, 1909. to Charles and Katherine (Soboleski) Bocian. Mr. Bocian was a foreman employed with Doehler-Jarvis, retiring in 1973 after 40 years. He was a US WWII Army veteran.

His memberships included Grace Lutheran Church, Rubicon Lodge #237 F&AM for 43 years and he was a Master Mason, serving on the Fellow Craft Team, Hi-Twelve, and he served two terms as Patron for the Toledo Chapter O.E.S. #341.

His wife, Undine (Barkholt) Bocian, brothers, Edward, Paul, Thomas, Victor, Roy, and Daniel, and adopted sister, Sophia (Rudzki) Bocian Wisniewski, preceded him in death.

Surving are his sister-in-law, Lillianna Bocian; nieces, Diane Weidinger and Sandra (David) Weber; great-niece, Kristi (Brad) Roberts; great nephew, Kevin Weber, and great great niece and nephew, Lauren and Justin Roberts.

Friends may call at the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary, 3815 Sylvania, Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 with Rubicon Lodge #237 conducting Masonic Dervices at 7:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the mortuary. Interment Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of NW Ohio or Grace Lutheran Church.
