Benjamin Franklin Arthur, Route 6, Rockdale, Texas.
I am an old Confederate, 82 years of age. I served in the Infantry until disabled and then joined Troop B, 10th Kentucky Calvary, Morgan's Command. Was captured with Morgan in Ohio. Was seventeen months in Camp Douglas. Got down to Richmond, March 2, 1865. Gen Lee surrendered, April 9, 1865. I started home April 10.
I was born and reared in Rutherford County, Tennessee. Came to Rockdale, Texas Feb. 7 1880, where I have resided since. I send my late picture with best wishes for the Semi-Weekly Farm News and all its readers.
