COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 08/25/1994
James Elmer "Big Mac" McCauley Sr., 78, died Wednesday at Suburban Medical Center. He was a native of Raywick, a former forest ranger for Marion County Foresters, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Raywick. Survivors: his wife, the former Mary Mildred Mattingly; a son, James E. McCauley Jr.; a sister, Louise McCauley of Lebanon; and three brothers, Don G. McCauley of Wyoming, IL, Robert L. McCauley Sr. of Lebanon and Albert G. McCauley. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, McAfee-Resthaven Funeral Home, 4501 Bardstown Road. Visitation: 4-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-9 p.m. Friday.

James Elmer McCauley, 78, Louisville, formerly of Marion County, died Aug. 24, 1994, at Suburban Hospital in Louisville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benedict and Lyda McCauley, and six brothers, Cyril, Bill, Earl, David, Thomas and Henry McCauley. Survivors include: his wife, Mildred McCauley; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Becky McCauley of Louisville; one sister, Catherine Louise McCauley of Lebanon; three brothers, Robert L. McCauley of Lebanon, Albert Garland McCauley of Louisville and Donald G. McCauley of Wyoming, IL. Funeral services were conducted at McAfee Funeral Home with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Rev. Steve Pohl officiated. Pallbearers were Jimmy, Mike, Randy and Garland McCauley, Bobby Cecil and Robbie Mattingly. McAfee Funeral Home, Louisville, was in charge of the arrangements.
