Marilyn (Norton) Abraham, age 70, of Tiverton formerly of Somerset died Sunday, February 7, 2010 in St. Anne's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Anthony J. Abraham to whom she had been married for 50 years.

She was born in Fall River the daughter of the late William B. and Madeline (Walsh) Norton, she was educated at the former Sacred Heart Grammar School, a graduate of the former Academy of the Sacred Hearts and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in 1983. Mrs. Abraham was a longtime resident of Somerset and summered in Tiverton for many years before moving there permanently in 2003.

Mrs. Abraham owned and operated Marilyn Abraham Interiors for twenty years, prior to that she was employed as a Medical Secretary for 20 years with Union Hospital, Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Abraham was a member of the Friends of St. Anne's, Board of Directors at Steppingstone Inc., a member of the Fall River Country Club and designed the interior of the Main Dining Room, she was on the Board of Directors, the House Committee, Vice President of the W.G.A. and a member of the Ladies Golf Team. She was the president of the PTA at Carroll School, a member of the League of Women's Voters, Junior League of Fall River and a CCD Teacher at St. Patrick's Church in Somerset.

She enjoyed her vacation retreat at T.A.M.E. in Thornton, NH and skiing at Tenney Mountain. She also loved Baker's Beach in Westport, summer cookouts with the family and tailgating at Boston College Football games.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two children Daniel J. Abraham and his wife Lauren of Portsmouth, RI and Elizabeth A. Kendall and her husband Peter of Rye, NH, four grandchildren Bryan and Matthew Abraham and Charles and Kelly Rose Kendall; a sister Gail M. Norton of Newport and a brother Barry J. Norton of New Bedford; sister in law to Donald and Yvonne Taylor of Bow, NH, Antoinette Abraham of Fall River and Bradley and Diana Sawyer of Yarmouth Port, MA. She was also the sister of the late Fr. William W. Norton and niece of the late Msgr. Thomas Walsh.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 9am from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St. (at Cherry, Locust and High Sts.), Fall River followed by her funeral mass at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, Linden St., Fall River. Visiting Hours Friday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations in her honor may be made to Hudner Oncology c/o St. Anne's Hospital 795 Middle St., Fall River, MA 02721.
