Lena (Wyatt) Burgess, 98, of Crossville, passed away Feb. 3, 2010. Funeral services were held Feb. 7 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Newton Cemetery.
Mrs. Burgess was born Feb. 24, 1911, in Crossville, the daughter of Jake and Elizabeth (Thomas) Wyatt.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, James Burgess of Ohio, Winford Burgess of Crossville and Ronnie Burgess of Fall Creek Falls; daughters, Lou (Burgess) Hurst of Chattanooga, Antha (Burgess) Drake of Spencer and Margie (Burgess) Wyatt of Crossville; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Burgess Sr.; sons, Charles, Claude, Ross Jr. and Travis Wendell Burgess; brothers, Estel, Arlis and Glenn Wyatt; and sisters, Edith Wilson and an infant baby girl.
Pallbearers were Keith Wyatt, Roger Burgess, Rocky Burgess, Tony Smith, Danny Hodge and Dylan Burgess.
