Mrs. John Cain, 809 N. 4th street, died at the Portage hospital at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 3rd, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Cain was born May 8, 1859, the daughter of George and Alice Schmitz, pioneer residents of the town of Russell, Sheboygan county. She was united in marriage November 22, 1887 to John Cain, also of Town Russell. To this union were born six children, namely: George, who died in infancy, Jennie of Kiel, Mrs. J.P. Harkins of Portage, P.H. Cain of Town Russell, Mrs. Edward E. Schmitt and Mrs. Valeria Premo, both of Wauwatosa.
Mrs. Cain is also survived by her sister, Miss Alecia Smith, and eight grandchildren. Mr. Cain passed away July 24, 1930.
She was a devoted member of the Ss. Peter and Paul church and belonged to the Christian Mothers' and Altar Societies.
The funeral services will be held from the home at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 6th, and at ten o'clock at the Catholic church. Interment will be made in the family lot at St. Anna.
