Also surviving are a daughter, June (Wayne) Dalton, of Greenfield; sons, Timothy (Patricia) Rittenhouse, of Indianapolis, IN, David Rittenhouse, of Chillicothe and Steven (Monica) Rittenhouse, of Milford, OH; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Willa) Shoemaker, Richard (Bonnie) Shoemaker and William (Carol) Shoemaker, all of Chillicothe; sisters, Betty (James) Oyer, Carolyn (Jack) Britton, both of Chillicothe and Ruth Skinner, of Portsmouth; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pastor Leonard Roop and his family. He was predeceased by sisters, Rebecca Shoemaker and Gertrude Hinty and by a brother, Floyd Rittenhouse.
Fred served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had worked as a minister. He was a member of Bible Methodist Church, AMVETS, NRA and the Conservation League.
Services were entrusted to Ware Funeral Home of Chillicothe, Ohio.
