She was the daughter of the late William Kinsler Nelson and Sara Alberta Taylor Nelson and the widow of Roy M. Allread. She retired as clerk from Calhoun County Auditor's Office after many years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 292, St. Matthews Chapter, and St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Affectionately known as Mama, Grandmamma, G. G., and Aunt Sadie, she possessed a profound love for her family. Family times were always special to her, as with a sharp mind, she reminisced of fond years gone by. The twinkle in her eye and her smiling face will be missed, but today, earth's loss is Heaven's gain.
Survivors are a loving and devoted son, William "Billy" R. Allread and his wife, Donna of St. Matthews; a sister, Blanche N. Livingston of Columbia; two brothers, George K. Nelson of Cayce, and William K. Nelson and his wife Virginia of Eastover; two grandchildren, Lynn Allread Williams and her husband Larry of St. Matthews, and William "Will" R. Allread, Jr. of St. Matthews; two great-grandchildren, Lawrence "Trey" Williams and Lauren Williams both of St. Matthews; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Ossie Shingler.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth N. Frazier, and brothers, Milton Nelson and T. M. "Babe" Nelson.
