Gordon that led to a court of inquiry/court martial. The journal also contains lists of roommates and poetry.
Graduated from VMI class of 1852. One of the signatures on his diploma was that of T.J. Jackson. With his Page Co. friend and 1852 VMI classmate, Hiram Jackson Strickler, he traveled to Kansas before the war. When W.O. Yager left for the west before the war, he took with him several slaves, including a valet. Here, Strickler and Jordan had real estate transactions together. There was a deed dated February 12, 1858, signed by Strickler and Yager, for land in Shawnee County, Kansas Territory. Yager conveyed one-half interest in Lucknow to Strickler and Strickler conveyed one-half interest in Bellmont to Yager.
Located at San Antonio, Texas at the outbreak of the Civil War. There he met and married Mary E. Rhodes, a descendant of John Rhodes of Page Co., killed by the Indians. She was the grandaughter of Joseph Rhodes of Ida. He married her and immediately left for the army.
