The Hawaiian Nightinggale(songbird) Iwalani Charlotte Kahalewai started singing at the age of 6 for U.S.O. shows; many political rallies at Maui; Lani Wai & Wailuku Gardens, Maui; Hawaii Calls (2 Years); Top of the Isle, Waikiki Biltmore; in 1958 joined the Alfred Apaka Show at the Tapa Room , Hawaiian Village; after Apaka's death sang at Don the Beachcombers (now Duke Kahanamoku's); with Alice Fredlund's Halekulani Girls, Halekulani Hotel; Charles Pokipala Trio, Halekulani Hotel; luaus at Moana Hotel, the famous Queen's Surf night club; with Tavana Polynesian Show at Ala Moana Hotel; part time singer with the famous Royal Hawaiian Band; also a regular guest on Hawaii Calls. Iwalani Charlotte Kahalewai was also known as Maui Girl.
