KENTUCKY STANDARD OBITUARY - 06/25/2001
Earnett Ballard, 84, of Bardstown, formerly of Loretto, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at her home. The New Hope native was a former homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Estel Ballard, one daughter, Judy Lynn Ballard; one son, Joseph Stanley Ballard; her parents, Joseph Arthur and Minnie Lee Nalley Mattingly; and three brothers, Joseph Louis Mattingly, Joseph "Buck" Linton Mattingly and George Rodney Mattingly. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Johnny (Bonnie Sue) Blair of New Hope; three sons, Randel Ballard of Bardstown, Mike Ballard of Louisville and Dan Ballard of New Hope; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. The funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Holy Cross with the Revs. Stephen A. Pohl and John A. Caldwell officiating. Sr. Mary Ellen Curl will assist. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation is after 9 a.m. today at the Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto. The prayer Group will pray the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Monday. A prayer service is 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Caritas Home Care Services, 711 McDowell Blvd., Bardstown, Ky. 40004. Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
