Mrs. Edna E. Arandus, 73, of 1127 Orchard street, was dead on arrival at the St. Joseph Hospital at 2:40 p.m. Thursday. She had suffered a heart attack at her home.
The daughter of Anton & Ida Schirmer Burr, she was born Mar. 28, 1885 near Washington. She had lived in Ottumwa most of her life and was a member of the Batavia Open Bible Church, Gold Star Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was married Aug. 18, 1922 in Fairfield to Charles R. Arandus who survives.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sons; Herman Bailey of Des Moines and Harry Bailey of St. Charles, MO; three daughters, Mrs. Maude Scully of Ottumwa, Mrs. Edna Boll of Rock Island, IL, and Mrs. Theresa Eslinger of Ottumwa route 5; a stepson, Laurence Arandus of Omaha, Neb., and two half-sisters, Mrs. Ellen Hummel of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Ida Mae Moffitt of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by three sons and a daughter.

Rupert Hetsker of the Harrows Branch Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Three other children with Guy Bailey were Vanden Flora Bailey who married Keith Amiss #95363823, Clell Lynch and C. E. Daley; Guy Howard Bailey 1911-1945. He married Lucille Buce. He died in France and Harry Lorenzo Bailey Halstead/Holstead who was adopted by Thomas and Alice Halstead/Holstead. Memorial #42974762. He married Lotus Christopher.
