Snowden, JR., Esq., requesting that Alexandria County be represented [by Snowden] in the next General Assembly of Virginia, "by one having the confidence of the people, accustomed to act with, and for them active... in the House of Delegates at the next session of the Legislature of Virginia."
1861 (April 17) - as a member of the Mt. Vernon Guards, when the company was mustered-in as Co. E of the 17th Virginia Infantry, enlisted, Alexandria, Va.
1862 (June 30) - wounded in action at Battle of Fraysier's/Frazier's Farm.
1862 (July 19... headstone reflects July 7) - Died, in Richmond, of wounds received at Frayser's Farm. Buried in or near Richmond, and remains later brought to Alexandria for reburial.
