During the Civil War, Enos was enrolled as a private on 12 August 1862, in Company H of th 99th Regiment of Indiana volunteers. He was honorably discharged at Indianapolis on 5 June 1865. (Declaration for an Original Disability Pension, 1890). He served as a musician.
Pension Papers say he is 5' 6" tall with light complexion and blue eyes and light hair. He had an injury of right hip at Buzzard Roost about Mar 1864.In Atlanta, GA about Aug. 1864 he incurred deafness. While at Fort McAllister, GA about Dec. 1864 he contracted disease of the eyes. Also, near Memphis, Tenn. about Nov. 1862 he recieved a gun shot wound to the head.
