Guy E. Buckley, 82, of 21 Wood St died Fri at the VA Center in Bath after a long illness.
Mr. Buckley was born in Wayne and was the widower of Mildred Marvin Draper, to whom he was married for 55 years (married Jun 21 1919 in Steuben Co., NY).
Mr. Buckley was a retired employee of the VA center in Bath and was employed by the state as a fireman at the former Soldiers and Sailors Home in Bath, and later employed as a utility engineer when it became the VA Center. He was the last remaining charter member of Westcott American Legion Post No. 173 in Bath and was an Army Veteran of WWI.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Louise Hastings of Elmira and Mrs. Cynthia Branning of Batesburg, SC; four sons, James of Kanona, Howard of St. Petersburg FL, Milford of Horseheads and Ronald of Wrentham, MA; 22 grandchildren and eight g-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Mon at Jones' Funeral Home in Bath, the Canon Donald C. Means officiating.
