Chris' parents are unknown at this time, but both were born in Germany. He married Lydia "Liddy" Ann Brown on 24 Feb 1853 in Hamilton Co OH, the daughter of Michael & Mary T (Butt) Brown of Columbia, Hamilton Co OH, later of Salt Creek Twp, Hamburg, Franklin Co IN..

Children with Liddy:

1) Mary Elizabeth Frondorf (b. 1853); m. Warren Jackson.

2) Phebe Ann Frondorf (b. 1856); m. William Batson.

3) Joseph A Frondorf (b. 1858); m. Mary A Brown.

4) Sarah Jane Frondorf (1860-1935); union, no marriage, with Jeremiah "Jerry" Wilson Jamison (1854-1936); m1. William Dinkins (1849-1904); m2. Clyde Clifford Cadle (1890-1920) (div); m3. Arthur "Oat" Andrew Shockley (1878-1956). Sarah & Jerry are my Gr-Gr-Grandparents.

5) Edith Marie Frondorf (1863-1926); m1. Alonzo Pea (1856-1935) (div); m2. Orville Bartlett (1868-1952).

Chris was a carpenter by trade. In early to mid 1854, he and Liddy moved to Salt Creek Twp in Hamburg, Franklin Co IN, where there was a modest German population. There he took up farming and all his children were born.

Chris died at the age 49 years and is buried under the name "Chris Reindorf", but the name is actually Frondorf. Most certainly this misspelling is due to the pronunciation in a thick German accent.

Still researching to locate Chris' parents. Will update this memorial as more information is found.

Thank you so very much to letterman1959 for transferring my 3x Gr-Grandfatehr to my care. I am forever grateful.
