James "Cap" Adams, age 85, of Bryant, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010. He was born April 30, 1924, in Sardis, Tennessee. Mr. Adams worked as a pipefitter at Alcoa for 36 years and a member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. E. and Vella Adams and a sister, Evalene Richey.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jo Boone Adams of Bryant; daughter, Amanda Haley and husband Tom of Benton; son, Brian Adams and wife Kathy of Bryant; four grandchildren, Nathan Hopkins and wife Stephanie, Jessica Bursk and husband Eric, John Haley and Jessica Haley and four great-grandchildren, Bliss Burton, Jax Hopkins, Paisley Hopkins and Avery Bursk.
Pallbearers will be Holland Miller, Shelby Williams, Herman Holloway, Mark Boone, Rick Carmichael and Jimmy Parson.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7 at Ashby Funeral Home.
