Betty Jane Breeding Artrip BAPTIST VALLEY, Va. Betty Jane Breeding Artrip, age 79, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born Nov. 4, 1930, at Lebanon, Va., she was the daughter of the late Will Breeding and Jessi Cochran. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School. She worked for Tazewell County Arts and Crafts Guild for many years. Betty was an avid quilter and member of the Crab Orchard Museum. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Kate Cochran Breeding; and one son, Bill Gene Artrip Jr. She is survived by three sons, Frank Artrip and wife Wanda of Bandy, Dwayne Artrip and wife, Lisa of Jewell Ridge, Darrell Artrip of Baptist Valley; one daughter, Priscilla Shortridge and husband, Tony of Wardell; grandchildren, Roger Artrip, Hanna Artrip, Reid Artrip, Renee Cook, Amy Steele and Josh Shortridge; great- grandchildren, Stormi, Cierra and Dawson Cook; one sister, Dorothy Sykes of Cleveland, Va.; one niece, Judy Harris and husband, Guy of Honaker; one nephew, Larry Sykes and wife, Rebecca of Lebanon; one great-niece, Kelsey and one great-nephew, James.
