Dale G. Jones, age 94, of Centerville, Iowa died Monday, September 11, 2006 at Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center, Centerville, Iowa.

Dale was born December 5, 1911, the son of Guy and Bertha(Byxbe)Jones in Promise City, Iowa. Dale was in the first class to attend the Centerville Junior College in 1931 and graduated in 1933. Dale then entered the US Navy on January 27, 1942 and served until November 8, 1945. He married Mildred "Maxine" Bryant January 30, 1943 in Stillwater, OK. She preceded him in death on February 14, 1985. Following the 2nd World War Dale was employed at the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Ok as Assistant Chief Instructor in the Radio Division. After the family returned to Centerville in 1953, he worked for the Iowa Southern Utilities until his retirement in 1976.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Linda(Jones)Carlson of Cleveland Heights, OH; one granddaughter, Leslie Carlson of Chicago, IL; two nieces, Kathy(Lyle)Linder of Kansas City, MO and Janice(Richard)Etherton of Kansas City, MO; and a family friend, Louise Kennis of Centerville, IA. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Doris Jones.

Funeral Services will be held 2pm Friday, September 15, 2006 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Interment will follow at the Jones Cemetery, Plano, Iowa. A visitation will be held Thursday at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8pm. A memorial has been established to Angels Hands and Drake Ave Public Library and may be left at the funeral home.
