The sudden death of Arthur Douglas Wheeler, 112 N. Jay St., who died of heart disease at his home on Sunday afternoon about 5 o'clock, will carry deep sorry to his many friends in this city. Mr. Wheeler had been shoveling off the side walk in front of his home shortly before 5 o'clock and had been at work only a few minutes when he entered the house and complained of feeling faint. Dr. J. O. Stranahan was summoned, but Mr. Wheeler passed away about 15 minutes later.

The deceased was born in Vienna 62 years ago, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wheeler. In that place 35 years ago he was married to Miss Flora Wyman, who survives. About 23 years ago they came to ROme and have since made this city their home. For several years he had been in the employ of the Rome Textile Company. Mr. Wheeler was a member of Rome Tent, No 380, Knights of the Maccabees, and was a man of genial disposition who made and retained a wide circle of friends.

Surviving besides his wife are two children, Charles E. Wheeler and Mrs. Henry Thomas of this city, two brothers and one sister, Clark Wheeler of this city, Fred Wheeler and Mrs. Richard Wood of Vienna, also one granddaughter. Rome Sentinel, January 15, 1923
