Vicki Atha, a Monterey resident, passed away Friday December 25, 2009 at the New Horizons Medical Center at the age of 52. She was born in Ft. Worth, TX the daughter of Bobby and Janis Rhodes Atha of Frankfort and was preceded in death by her brother Harvey Atha.
She was the activities director at the Homestead Nursing Center in New Castle and was a member of the Monterey Christian Church. Vicki graduated from Eastern Kentucky University where she received a major in English and a minor in music.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Billy Meringer of Monterey, a daughter, Janis (Adam) Whiteker of Monterey, three brothers, Wesley (Dale) Atha and John Atha both of Frankfort and Dennis (Angie) Atha of Monterey, two grandchildren, Victoria Leigh and Liam Neal Whiteker also survive.

Visitation will be held at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes on Wednesday, December 30th from 11am til 2pm. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2pm. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Homestead Nursing Center Activities Dept.
