SHENANDOAH - A funeral service for Mrs. Mamie Virginia Emerson, 74, will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Warren G. Kyger Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Olin B. Landes, the Rev. Alfred Comer and the Rev. Alvin Y. Allen. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Shenandoah. Mrs. Emerson, wife of Edward Benjamin Emerson of Shenandoah, died late Sunday at Rockingham Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for two days. She was born Feb. 28, 1891 at Luray and was a daughter of Richard J. and Polly Richardson [sic]. She was a member of Newport Brethren Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mae Bennett of Hyattsville, Md. and Mrs. Pauline Bicker [sic] of Shenandoah; one son, Clyde E. Emerson of Shenandoah; one sister, Mrs. Alvin Berry of Berryville; two brothers, Lester Nicholson of Manassas and Edward Nicholson of Washington; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
