Winfred "Buddy" Bierley
Winfred "Buddy" Bierley, 83, of Rt. 1, 329 Jefferson, Brook, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1902, in Rensselaer, the son of William R. and Ruth Lottie (Biggs) Bierley, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a Brook resident for 29 years, and also lived in Washington Township.
He was married on Oct. 8, 1927, in Rensselaer, to Clarice Marie Garriott, who survives. He was educated in the Surrey and Paulas Schools in Jasper County.
A retired farmer and cattle raiser, he belonged to the First Christian Church of Brook. He was a past member of the Brook Town Board. He also was an Ade School Corporation trustee.
Survivors include one brother, Jess Bierley of Brook; one sister, Mrs. Geneva (Ivan) Handley of Renssleaer.
Two brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Jackson Funeral Chapel. The funeral is at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Fred Kelm officiating. Burial will follow in Weston Cemetery.
