Gerald Charles "Jerry" Hohn

Gerald C. Hohn, age 61 of Brooklyn Park, died on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center Fairview.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 1st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gerard's Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park with Fr. Giles Schinelli officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ansgar Cemetery in St. Ansgar, Iowa.

The Hohn Family will greet friends on Monday morning for one hour prior to services, at St. Gerard's Catholic Church. Arrangements are being handled by McRaith Funeral Home of Waseca.

Gerald Charles was born December 6, 1948 in Charles City, Iowa to Almond P. and Rita (Roth) Hohn. Gerald was a graduate of St. Ansger High School in Iowa. He was united in marriage to Susan Katherine Haglund on June 20, 1969 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Gerald and Sue resided in Minneapolis for one year, and then moved to Watertown, Minnesota. In 1990 they moved to Plymouth, and since 1994 had resided in Brooklyn Park. Gerald had worked his entire career in Minneapolis first with Liton Co, then Theele Engineering, MGS Corporation, and currently with Tech Logic. His wife Sue preceded him in death on October 20, 2006. Gerald was a longtime member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church Brooklyn Park. He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Gerald (Lisa) Hohn, Jr. of St. Clair; by his grandchildren Jaysen and Jolissa Hohn, Sammy and Anthony Lemke; by his fiancée Sylvia Diekman of Kasson; by his mother Rita Hohn of St. Ansgar, IA, and his brother Dennis Hohn of Ankeny, IA; by his sisters Marlene (Dennie) Lippitt of Monticello, and Elaine Warner of Byron; by his brothers-in-law Robert Bzoskie of Kasson, and Richard (Anna) Haglund of Ewa Beach, HI; by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his father in 2005, and his sister Mary Broskie in 2007; by four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Kenneth and Berniece Haglund.
