Esther was born October 22, 1919 in Kansas City, KS. She was a homemaker and a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Esther's entire life was devoted to Jesus, her Savior and to her family. The oldest of five children, she had to go to work early in life to help provide for her brothers and sisters. She met Steve at age 18, fell in love and married. She was a devoted wife to Steve and mother to her five children praying for them every day. She sacrificed her wants to them and sometimes her needs. Her life was a Godly example to all of us. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen A. Dempsey and a granddaughter, Suzanne Beal. She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Stroker and Virginia Beal, both of Shawnee, KS; three sons, Gene Dempsey, Hudson, FL, Tom Dempsey, Raymore, MO, Steve Dempsey, Kansas City, KS; 17 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
