Daughter of Robert Morton Fleming and Caroline Waters. Widow of Robert Ashton.

Obituary:
Mrs Alice M. Ashton, formerly of Shade Valley passed away at the Jesse McGarvey home in Shirleysburg on Saturday morning, May 14, 1949, at 8:05 o'clock after a lingering illness. She was born in Huntingdon County on July 9, 1871, a daughter of Robert and Caroline (Water) Fleming. She was united in marriage with Robert Ashton who preceded her in death. One sister and a brother survive: Mrs. Margaret Book of Blain and Dr. S.B. Fleming of Mount Union. Mrs. Ashton was a member of the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church. The funeral will be on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Behel funeral home at Dry Run. The Rev. William Brown will officiate and interment will be made in the Shade Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 o'clock on Tuesday evening.
