-- Funeral for Mrs. Rebecca Durant Allen were held Friday, Nov. 28, 2003. Burial, directed by Samuels and Richardson Funeral Home, followed in the Lee Cemetery in Scranton. Mrs. Allen, 64, died Friday, November 21, 2003, at her residence in Coward after an extended illness. She was born May 8, 1939, in Sumter County, a daughter of the late John Andrew Durant and Louise Green Durant. Survivors include: her husband, Levern "Sonny" Allen, Sr., of the home; two sons, Levern Allen, Jr., of Phoenix, Arizona, and Bobby Leroy Allen of the home; one daughter, Ms. Sarah Mae Allen of Lake City; two brothers, E.C. Durant of Columbia and Isaac Durant of Baltimore, Maryland; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie B. Graham of Lake City and Mrs. Barbara Waiters of Baltimore, Maryland; and a host of grandchildren.
