Husband of Anna Gertrude (Oenning) Bocke (1834-1928). Born in Waldvelen, Westphalia, Germany. Married on November 11, 1867 in Quincy, Illinois. Father of three boys and two girls: Bernard, John, Henry, Mary and Elisabetha Bocke.

AN OLD RESIDENT
DIED LAST NIGHT

Summons for John H. Bocke,
Aged 73, Came After
Short Illness.

John H. Bocke, an old resident of the city, died at his home at 1226 Lind street, last evening at 6:35 o'clock, after a brief illness. He had suffered from pneumonia for the past three weeks.

Mr. Bocke, who had resided in Quincy for the past 42 years, and was well known among the older inhabitants, was a native of Germany, where he was born at Welterphalen. The date of his birth was November 4th, 1836. He had been retired for the past number of years, and leaves to survive him his wife and four children, three sons and one daughter, all of this city. The sons are Henry, John, and Barney, and the daughter is Mrs. John Grave.

He was a member of the St. John Catholic church, St. Anthony's branch W. C. U., and the St. Aloysius Orphan's society.

FUNERAL OF
JOHN H. BOCKE

SERVICES THIS MORNING
AT ST. JOHN'S CHURCH
LARGELY ATTENDED.

The funeral of John H. Bocke took place from the family residence, No. 1226 Lind street, this morning at 8 o'clock, with a solemn requiem mass at St. John's Catholic church at 8:30, which was celebrated by the pastor, Reverend Joseph Postner, assisted by Reverend Andrew, O. F. M., and Reverend Hohe.

The services and funeral were largely attended, owing to the wide acquaintance of deceased, a number of relatives and friends thereby showing their last respects. The floral tokens were numerous.

The body was interred in the family burial plot at Calvary cemetery.
