Her Mother placed her in a Catholic orphanage in New Orleans at a very young age. More information to follow.
Enlisted in WAAC, converted to WAC, during World War 2 as a member of the Army 4th Air Force at Lemoore Field, California. Married over 50 years to "her Johnny" John Mahan. Both of their sons, Hal and Jimmy Mahan preceded her in death. Second husband, Charles Ready, died a few months after their marriage in 2007.
