Rebecca Arabelle Crayne, aged 85, of Jefferson, R. D. 1, died at the home of her son, Dave H. Crayne, near the Crayne school yesterday (Monday) October 18, 1943, at 4:05 p. m., from complications following a long illness.
She was born July 19, 1858, in Greene County, the daughter of the late Camel and Louise Mellon Bosworth and was the widow of the late J. H. Crayne. Surviving children are: Dave H. Crayne, Jeffersn (sic), R. D. 1; Mrs. H. C. Pitcock, Jefferson; W. T. Crayne, Jefferson, and Mrs. G. L. Pollock, Zollarsville. There are eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also surviving. She was a lifelong member of the Jefferson Methodist Church and took an active part in the Ladies’ Aid Society.
CRAYNE - Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Arabelle Crayne, who died Monday, October 18, 1943, will be held at the home of Dave H. Crayne, Jefferson, R. D. 1, near the Crayne schoolhouse, Thursday, Oct. 21, at 2 p. m. in charge of Rev. Kenneth Coggan, with interment in the Greene County Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received at the home at any time. The funeral director is John Lucas.
