Harold Stacy, age 74 of Pounding Mill, Virginia formerly of Pilgrims Knob, Virginia passed away Saturday, February 18, 2006 in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital following a brief illness. Born July 31, 1931 in Buchanan County, Virginia he was the son of the late William Edward & Maggie Keen Stacy. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a retired coal miner & a member of the UMWA.

In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by two brothers, Matt Stacy, Sr. & Bob Stacy.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Hazel Byrd Stacy; one daughter, Rita Fay Stacy Ramey of Pounding Mill; one son, Glenn Stacy of Augusta, Georgia; one brother, Nelson Stacy of Ypsilanti, Michigan; two sisters, Ada Dunford of Poudning Mill & Evelyn Rife & husband Elmer of Pilgrims Knob; Brother-in-law Edward Byrd of Pounding Mill; one granddaughter, Julie Meadows of Pounding Mill; two step-grand-daughters, Rebecca Ramey and Jessica Ramey of Pounding Mill & a host of friends & neighbors also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Buchanan Funeral Services Chapel in Keen Mountain, Virginia with Rev. Ancil Childress & Rev. Jack Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Military graveside rites will be conducted by John Ratliff Post 164. Paulbears will be Otis Meadows, Tommy Tillie, Bruce Rife, Chester Rife, Richard Rife & Eddie Dunford.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday with a service at 7:00 P.M. at Buchanan Funeral Services in Keen Mountain, Virginia.
