Ms. Judd was born on February 22, 1920 in Fort Stockton, TX and has lived on the coast for fifty-seven years. She was the wife of the late Roy C. Judd.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy C. Judd, her parents, John and Cora Springer Billings, and four sisters, Ginger Claypoole, Naomi Hodges, Jean McDougal and Nell Peters.
Survivors include her son and his wife, John and Sabrina Judd of D'Iberville, one brother, John Billings of Wharton, TX, six grandsons, and nine great grandchildren.
Ms. Judd was a graduate of Texas Tech University and did graduate work at the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State University. She was a teacher in Biloxi school system for twenty-seven years. Her name is listed in the Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America and Outstanding Leaders in Elementary and Secondary Education. She was selected as one of the outstanding teachers of Beauvoir School in 1973 and 1976. Ms. Judd was active in civic and welfare programs and a member of the Rodenburg Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Rodenburg Church of Christ with a service to follow. Burial will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Rodenburg Church of Christ or the National Center for Breast Cancer.
